To use MyBidz, we may collect the following information:

Account information: Full name, email address, phone number, and role (homeowner or contractor).
Profile information: For contractors, professional license, insurance certificate, years of experience, service area ZIP codes, and business bio.
Location: Addresses and ZIP codes associated with posted projects.
User content: Project photos, job descriptions, messages between users, and bids.
Payment information: Processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.
Usage data: Technical information such as device type, app version, and performance data to improve your experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

Create and manage your account and user profile.
Post projects and receive bids from qualified contractors.
Facilitate communication between homeowners and contractors via in-app messaging.
Process payments, escrow holdings, and contractor payouts.
Verify contractor identity and credentials.
Display ratings and reviews for completed services.
Send notifications about project status, new bids, and important updates.
Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We share information only in the following cases:

With contractors: When you accept a bid, we share your contact information and project details with the assigned contractor.
With homeowners: Contractors share their profile information, license, and ratings with homeowners posting jobs.
With Stripe: Payment data is processed directly by Stripe, in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
For legal requirements: If required by law or to protect user rights, security, or combat fraud.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account from the "Delete Account" option in the app menu, all your personal data (profile, projects, messages, and bids) is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

We may retain some anonymized information for analytical and legal purposes after deletion, which cannot be linked back to your identity.

5. Data Security

We protect your data through encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure server storage with strict access controls, and periodic security audits. Payments are processed through Stripe, certified PCI-DSS Level 1. Only authorized personnel have access to your data, and only to the extent necessary to provide the service.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data in your profile.
Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Restriction: Request that we limit the use of your data in certain cases.
